What could have been
I’m still in love with the space
I’m in
Connected with you”
The Word as Written by Louis Hale
Poetry :
”Even if I wondered
What could have been
I’m still in love with the space
I’m in
Connected with you”
If you give me words
I’ll make them look pretty
If you share your love
together we’ll build a city
of devotion respect and honesty
I’ll put no bounds on thee
though I will welcome you
into my arms you see
Everything before us will adore us
if we know ourselves
& love everyone else around
Make our Peace with the ground
& the sky why
I can’t help
but love you
for all you do for me
with me
& especially to me
You knew me
from the moment
we shared a space
on the dancefloor
We talked more
about Buddha & Krishna
my worldview your Guru
It was you who
believed in yourself
& that was wonderful to see
Believed in me
& that was wonderful to be
Believed in & trusted
It suddenly made me want to
be worthy of that
& in fact
gets me racing home
to hold you holding me
To lay my lips against yours
Like honey into tea
Like I want to be We
Like I want you to
remember me
Like with my heart
you I feel
You give me words
I take them
& make them real

Honey
Honey
Honey
As pretty as the taste is sweet
You touch everything
that feels real to me
Give me lovin’ unforeseen
My life wants to bring
Endless energy
Honey
Honey
Honey
As lovely as the word can be
What you mean to me
Is that I can be
The best that you can see
With you in my heart
I’ll unhide my dreams
Honey
Honey
Honey
Though I race for cloud
No there ain’t no doubt
No fear I’m here
You have no peer
And for your ear
this truth will out
Honey
Honey
Honey
I ascend a sky of lights to view
from the moon into the earth
Here too
I find my hidden Sun so cool
there’s nothing left but love
for two
To share with my

Wondering what we would do
If we could all get together
From Two
To become One
As Children of the same Sun
Life and love is what we
would have in common
Never letting our love die
We come together
Underneath One sky
Surrounded by the One ocean
Of Space
This battle we fight is revolution
Of Human Grace
Never Sever our Tie
Together we achieve victory
With our whole lives
Just like yours
We want ours
We do not take it from you
There is room for all to do
What the god of our Universe
Intended
Making sure that Right
Is to everyone extended
We pursue happiness
Not devastation
Fusion not Fission
Our Mission
In this life to see all peoples
Free merely to be
To exist as you already do
Beside me
How can I refuse someone
That courtesy
Blessed we be to know
That nature made you the same as me
As you climb up
There ain’t no reason
To tear others down
I was born here
Flying the flag of freedom
For my first sound
The most wonderful voices
In this country’s history
Never dismissed me
They told me
I should respect all colors and creeds
The seeds we sow of love
Are the mighty oaks we need
To stand firm and resolved
To be together
No matter what they say
Be with us
Unify don’t deny
No matter whether laws stand
Or fall
“Together” must be the joy of All
We’re not asking
To have the ability to hurt you
We’re not pushing
To tear you apart
We’re not saying
You have to lose what you have
We’re asking you to add
Not subtract
To master a math of Love
-Which I Know for a fact
is the One Law given to you
from up above
I have to ask those oppose unity:
What are you afraid of?
The house you live in will still stand
The music you listen to will still be available on the FM band
Your coffee will still rest firmly in your hand
Starbucks will still charge you the same
If Patrick and Tom have a piece of paper
Entitling them to share a name
The President for you
Will still be the President for us
I know you understand
The world will still have war
Unfortunately
We’ll all still have taxes to pay
And still be worried about social security
Gasoline won’t be affected
If the same sex get connected
And if their wish is to kiss
Don’t worry
With their Cooties you won’t be
Infected
The television will still have Idol on
But Clay won’t have to say he’s not gay
Just to sing a song
If you think civilization will crumble
Because Dahlia loves Antoinette
Then you may not get what Love means yet
You can still expect the Sun to come up
And Good Morning America to be on
While you fill your cup
You favorite sports they will still play
And you still won’t know who’s on steroids
Or who’s gay
You can still walk the street to your beat
Still eat your favorite meal in your favorite seat
Ain’t much about your life is gonna change
If He and He and She and She
Decide a marriage to arrange
I guess Vegas may boom if we make room
For two more on the aisle
-Maybe some of that money will come
to Californ-I-A and then you can delay
the budget crisis that will still be here
for awhile
This is
If you can just step back
So you can see the light of
Two Humans with a smile
I have an unbeatable argument for those who don’t agree:
I will tell them
Buddha said “Love”
I will tell them
Jesus said “Love”
I will tell them
Mohammed said “Love”
I will tell them
God said “Love”
I will tell them
The Constitution says “Equal”
You can’t tell me that you can see
Two people on the street
And know what makes their hearts and minds complete
You can’t tell me their union will touch you in the least
That somehow your life will go down in defeat if they meet
We’re not going to hurt you
If we walk a few feet down a path
Don’t be afraid, don’t let fear drive you
Away from your Sons and Daughters
Your Sisters and Brothers
We know all of you went through Hell and high water
To see slaves free
To bring the vote to Her and me
Give us a chance to go further down that path
How can you justify refusing
Karen and Kerry their own love note?
We must remember that we gather here
Today to be Together
And together we should go in Peace
The best fight we can make against those who seek to separate in this State
Is to continue to get together
To continue to love one another
To unify and connect on our own
To find a name for our cause
So as not to disturb their precious zone
We don’t need a gavel and a robe
To tell us how to love
You just keep reaching for the hand of another
You show them what it means to be a lover
You raise your children to be tolerant and understanding
And one day they will
Be demanding
Recognition of the love of two people
For each other
Two people equal to all others
‘cause we ain’t done here
We will erase all fear
We will bring all people near
We will celebrate this obstacle for what it is
An opportunity to create everlasting love
For all those we hold dear.

As the summer fades
and the heated haze of
wonder drifts into the colors
of Earth’s next breath
Remember how you
spent those nights
being driven by the music
that loves you
You work the days
and the night beckons
like a call to reawaken
from mindlessness
The music wants you back
You get out on the Boulevard
& look downtown
you see the skyscrapers
reaching up out of
the Earth
And straight down the street
your eyes meet the sky
above the horizon
You can now see the moon
a giant blood orange orb
presiding over the outstretched
arms of the skyscrapers
And if you look closely
you can see the
well worn grooves
in the ancient surface
Slowly spinning while
those giant light tipped
fingers grasp
the darkness of the night sky
The city breathes the house
beat pulse of your heart
Looks like one of those nights
one of those nights you feel like getting down

How like water
washing across my beach
smashing
in a slow motion
moment of power
against my rocks
the spray cascading back down
to drain in streaming rivulets
rushing for another roar
that which soaks in
is drawing back out
arching for another pass
What starts as rain
is now like dynamite
in the brain
little trickles
to ponderous crashes
delight my mind
and ears crave for more
Bring me close to you
wash again upon my shore
How like water
washing across my beach
smashing
smashing

My heart break
don’t impress you
You don’t believe that
I feel it too
I live the fact
this ain’t easy
tryin’ to find
my own way
I have to keep pushin’
for love
on my own today
Don’t stop my say
Don't

Always close
you will be ever
always close will
he be to you
when you need
a loving touch
feel that
behind you
all around you
those little memories
that make you
are those bits of
the stuff
love is of
they will never
leave you
don't let nobody say
to throw away
even those sour times
you'll remember
the character
of the love
As cool air drapes clouds
over hills beyond
Always close he is
never let go that bond

Black is electable
Black is inexorable
Black has pull
Black wears wool
Black has eyes
Black has ears
Black has fears
Black sheds tears
Black spends years
Black is Cool
Black is Copacetic
Black is Eclectic
Black is electric
Black is eccentric
Black is Weird
Black is not right
Black is not white
Black is White
Black is full of prayer
Black is answered
Black is heard
Black is not seen
Black is uncovered
Black is blogged
Black is clogged
Black is free
Black is paid for
Black is made
Black is broken
Black is Rock
Black don’t roll—often
Black could be the Soul everyone has but is afraid to dance with
Black could be swifter
Black is Hipster
Black is what you don’t believe
Black ain’t on every sleeve
Black is in need, but Black already has
Black is read
Black is Write
Black is gettin’ up as well as down
Black is articulate
Black is previously rehearsed
Black was in demand but is now in short supply
Black is not—or maybe it is—sold out, or is that Soul’d out
Black is Out
Black is Outspoken
Black is Black
Black is Blacker than that
Black is not Blacker than thou
Black is back
Black is spoke as well as hub
Black will tell you to remove that hand before you draw back a nub
Black is female in ALL it’s incarnations
Black is above simple damnations
Black is here
Black is now
Black ain’t finished and will not take a bow
But then again
Black is Zen
Black is

Can I?
Am I?
Will I?
Spill my will
or be Villi?
Can I move
earth or sea?
Do I stop?
Can I be me?
Permission
necessary?
Coffee or Tea?
Dance with me?
Shall we see?
Am I lost
to unknown me?
Have I glee?
Do I take note?
Where's my hope?
A creative way?
Every day?
Still I want
to know, My way?

(Just Keep it Cool)
Soul excitin’ for recitin’
‘til I feel the lightnin’
strike synaptically as rapturously
I call forth the energy of the Sun
to return to the one
& bounce forward in the evolution
my solution in the mix
looking for the harmony
of individual
simply dippin’ styles
so I use the right & the left
the exterior & the depth
try to get the deft usage
of sage-like wisdom to bring together
cultural & systemic the meaning
endemic to you while the do
I keep copacetic
kinda A-OK
I don’t care where you get it
just stay deep in the aesthetic
Just Keep it Cool, man!
then everything is copacetic
kinda A-OK
No rule but cool
as you pull the barstool
& lean in to catch the eye
of the slanga of the rye
pay the due and squeeze through
to cop yo’ spot on the floor
space for beats to make you drool
whether old or still in school
glide for rise and glad for sound
that makes you kinda get down
DJ, turn that record ‘round
Pound concrete boogie
with a whole lotta dance hounds
All in Balance finding Focus
cause the music is the locus
bang ya head ‘til fed
with glorious love n’ get it
when you keep it copacetic
kinda A-OK
Just keep it cool
I hope you heard it cuz I read it
just stay deep in the aesthetic
Just keep it cool, brotha
then everybody’s copacetic
kinda A-OK

The thing I have to ask myself is:
What is is it a question of?
Is it Money? Someone Else?
The Man?
You?
What is in the way?
I must always remember the possibilities that abound
connect & reflect ‘til the moments become rhythms
& then pound into sound
If we are all the same thing, how can there be anything in your way?
Any obstacle therefore must be perceptual
Time to see through them to the joy beyond
Process your hurts, no doubt
but exercise your writes and get them out
Let go of working with thoughts that don’t serve
have love for creating art
doing the bricklaying on the ground
I’ll make a skyscraper without regard
I do the work
the plans become apparent
I become a parent to my dream
and foster growth
I can turn the scene into ribbons of of electrical impulse
& actually get movement from my life
back to chant to remove the blinders from my face
self-imposed
Things go the way I want them to go
So now they go forward in the moment
Time is time to show it
a page to drop rage & shine like I glow it
put away the ‘moet’
my interest is in the poet
